The annual Storm Spotters Class is scheduled for March 30, at 7:00 P.M., at the EOC. This is a very good class, conducted by Dave Tucek, of the NWS. More information will be forthcoming as we get closer to the date.

January 22 Indiana Statewide RACES Test
Start planning for the State Test: NOW NOW NOW
To All County EMA Directors and Amateur Radio Operators
Guidelines for the Indiana RACES Bi-Annual Test to be conducted on
January 22, 2005 (Sat.) at 1400 UTC (9:00--10:00 Indianapolis time).
These guidelines are the same as the July test with the addition of a
60meter frequency. Also, for this test we will be using Echolink so
please make note of this for your planning.
This format will be the standard way initial contacts will be made to
the State EOC via Amateur Radio for this test. The test procedures
below will allow the county EMA Directors (or his/her designated local
amateurs) to use alternate communication channels to insure contact with
the State EOC. The State EOC will be up and running monitoring the test
frequencies, listening for check-ins beginning at 0900 Indianapolis
time. When checking in, please report the total number of checkins from
your local nets. For Test purposes only use the telephone as a last
resort. Operators are encouraged to use relays with other counties to
insure contact with the State EOC. Lets all do our part to have a great
turnout for this test.

LAST RESORT use the telephone.
Keep in mind that Amateur Radio Communications could be
requested to handle the overflow message traffic or damage assessment,
including digital modes, to prevent any communication shortfalls. Once
SEMA EOC is notified of a communication request the SEMA Ham Team would
follow the same procedures as used in this Indiana State Wide Test.
